A last minute work opportunity for Dave took us to Melbourne Australia for a whirlwind trip. I found out Dave scored me a free trip on Tuesday night. Wednesday morning we went to the storage unit to find my passport, which, of course, was in the very back on the bottom of the pile. Thursday after work we were boarding a plane. 16 hours there and 13 hours back. 17 hour time difference. What a trip. We came back the following Wednesday mid-day. We tried to optimize the time we did have there. I didn't get a chance to take many photos, but I "borrowed" some off Flickr of the things we saw. By the way, it was WINTER there since were we on the other side of the equator.
Other interesting things to note:
- Burger King is called Hungry Jack's
- GM Cars care called Holden
- The TV Show "Hell's Kitchen" is called "The F Word"
- It is winter
- They drive on the other side of the road
- Takeout is referred to as takeaway
- Short black means black coffee
- Flat white means coffee with milk
