Visiting and Eating

So much visiting and so much eating...

After working a bit in the morning, I met up with Chay at Java Jacks. Chay was the editor of the Dragon Echo (high school newspaper) the year before I. She is awesome. She is now married with an 11-year-old stepson and a less than two-year-old daughter. She works full-time at the university teaching Hospitality and she is working on finishing her PhD. Busy lady. It was great to catch up. I wish I had more time to visit everyone.

Then I went to lunch with Mouton (my high school journalism advisor and college journalism professor) at Chili's. Next to my parents, Mouton was probably the most influential person in my youth and learning. So many things that I learned in her classes I use today - I am talking beyond the inverted pyramid. How to work with your peers, how to critique work, how to stand up for what you believe in, how to think independently, and how to write coherently. We had a nice visit and caught up on life. She has retired from teaching and is off to new adventures.

Then I went to see my Aunt Francis and Uncle Clifford. They are having adventures as well. My Aunt Francis is getting a new car tomorrow. She is sad to get rid of her old one - I am not sure she will be able to part with it. My Uncle Clifford is just a laugh a minute. He has this manner of being completely serious yet totally hilarious.

Then Dad, Anne and I went to dinner at Casa Tomas. I was so tired, I came directly home and fell asleep.
