Australia Day Weekend: Monday in Yarra Valley

Starting the day with a homemade breakfast we cooked in our room - with farm fresh eggs from our innkeeper's flock, sourdough bread, OJ, and strawberries, we got ready for the day - after petting the goat and horse and dog and relaxing on the porch.

Then we were off to the Healesville Animal Sanctuary. Here we saw emus, koalas, dingos, kangaroos, wallabies, platypus, and many other animals. I have a pretty good selection of photos. You were able to get pretty close to the animals. There weren't too many cages or anything - just sometimes a roped off area. Some animals were in cases or cages, but they were pretty nice and spacious. And the layout was setup like a nature hike.

And then it was off to more adult adventures at Tarrawarra Winery (another Liz recommendation) and Domaine Chandon.
